capsules containing a combination of tamsulosin hydrochloride (0.4 mg) and dutasteride (0.5 mg), primarily used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or an enlarged prostate. This is a prescription-only medicine manufactured by Global Pharmaceuticals.
Key Information
Active Ingredients: Each capsule contains Tamsulosin HCl 0.4 mg and Dutasteride 0.5 mg.
Purpose: Tamsol D is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of moderate to severe benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. It works by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, and by shrinking the prostate gland to improve urine flow and reduce symptoms like frequent or difficult urination.
Dosage: The recommended dose is one capsule taken once daily, approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. The capsules should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed.
Side Effects: Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, fatigue, impotence, altered (decreased) libido, ejaculation disorders, and breast disorders (enlargement or tenderness).
Precautions: This medicine is not suitable for women, children, or adolescents. Pregnant women must avoid contact with leaking capsules as dutasteride can be absorbed through the skin and may inhibit the development of a male fetus’s external genitalia. Patients with a history of low blood pressure or severe liver impairment should use caution or avoid this medication
