
This medicine is used as an emergency contraceptive pill in women. It contains Levonorgestrel, which is a Progestin. It works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovary or preventing fertilization of the egg by sperm (male reproductive cells).

Take one tablet at a time. The medication works best if taken within 72 hours of having unprotected intercourse. Take your first dose immediately after intercourse and the second dose 12 hours later. Women who weigh more than 70kgs may need to take 2 tablets at a time for better results.
Overdose symptoms include breast tenderness, discolored urine, drowsiness, heavy vaginal bleeding (2 to 7 days after the overdose), headache, emotional changes, nausea and vomiting. If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor. Seek medical emergency help immediately.
If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don’t remember missing the dose, don’t double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.
This medication is also known as a “morning-after pill”, but you shouldn’t wait until the morning to take the tablet. Take the tablet as soon as possible after having unprotected intercourse. The efficacy of the tablet is within 72 hours and declines after 120 hours.
